Sports have always been a huge part of my life. I played volleyball growing up, and also managed wrestling for 4 years, along with football, hockey, and baseball for two years.
Growing up, the majority of my family “vacations” consisted of road trips across North America to watch my younger siblings compete in sports. My brother was an elite youth hockey player who had the opportunity to play in elite tournaments such as the Brick Invitational Hockey Tournament, and the Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament. He also won the MN State High School Hockey Tournament in 2019. My sister was a four-year varsity starter and three-year captain who competed in elite volleyball tournaments and junior national tournaments across the US.
While sports surrounded much of my life, my own journey as an athlete was heavily impacted by injuries. I have had one foot surgery and three knee surgeries, which were experiences that challenged me both physically and mentally. At the time, I didn’t realize it, but those moments were shaping my understanding of the mental side of performance, recovery, confidence, and resilience.
Through my own exeriences with injuries, along with watching my siblings navigate high-level competition, pressure, harsh coaching dynamics, parenting dynamics, and the emotional ups and downs that come with athletics, I developed a deep passion for sports, and for psychology. I saw and experienced firsthand how much mindset, confidence, support, and mental skills can influence not only performance, but also overall well-being and personal growth.
Those experiences ultimately led me to pursue a career where I could combine my love for psychology, and help athletes, performers, and individuals become their best selves- in both sports and in life.
